An Ancient Hebraic Cultural Interpretation of John 14 – 17

John 14:1. ‘Let not your heart be troubled, believe in God, also in me believe;
John 14:2 in the house of my Father are many mansions; and if not, I would have told you; I go on to prepare a place for you;
John 14:3 and if I go on and prepare for you a place, again do I come, and will receive you unto myself, that where I am ye also may be;
John 14:4. and whither I go away ye have known, and the way ye have
known.’

Hebraically, the house of a father was his family or descendants. The father
was the strength of the house, the son was the seed in the house. Jesus the
man is the son of David is glorified on to the throne of his father David, who
is the building of God’s house or temple, the dwelling place for his “name”
or character or personality. The word mansion here means a “place to stay”
or live or abide or take up residence. Jesus said unless a seed of wheat falls to
the ground and dies it dwells as but one seed, but if it falls and dies it rises
up to be many. Hebraically, when Jesus went to the cross and died, he went
to prepare a place for his disciples in his torn body, and when he rose from
the dead he received them into himself by breathing himself into them. They
became the residency or dwelling place or rooms within the Father’s house just
as he is. The physical flesh or dust of their bodies corporately was the living
“adamah” or earth that Yehovah promised to bless in Genesis 12
