For the people of the Bible, genealogies were crucial. Why? Because the people of the Bible were Hebrews whose whole life and culture was based upon family relationships and the God of their fathers who had made them great and precious promises. Those that could trace their genealogies back through Jacob or Israel, to Isaac and ultimately Abraham, and who fulfilled the terms of God’s covenant with these men of God, were heirs of Abraham’s blessing according to God’s promise. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob was born into this family-based culture, the people of promise, in the person of Jesus. The very land that they were living in was given to the Israelites as their inheritance in accordance with God’s covenant promises to their fathers. Jesus himself is described in his genealogy in Matthew 1:1 as the son of David and the son of Abraham. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob was born as the son of Abraham and the son of David to become the ultimate heir and guarantee of the fulfilment of God’s promises, not only to these men of God, but also to guarantee the fulfilment of every promise that God had ever made as recorded in the Bible. However, God’s promise to Abraham was not only to Abraham and his ultimate son Jesus, but also to all the families of the Earth. What is important to understand is not what people are brainwashed into thinking by the church establishment now, but what this meant within the culture into which God in the person of Jesus Christ, was born. God spoke regarding Abraham in Genesis 18:19 and said, “For I know him, that he will command his sons and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he has spoken of him”. In Hebrew the word for bless is a pictograph which means a gift brought on bended knee. God’s blessing is the grace or gift of his sovereign and unmerited favor. It is sovereign grace because God sovereignly chooses to show his unmerited or unearned favour to those who in their natural selves do not deserve and cannot earn such a blessing. God’s unmerited favour is not deserved and cannot be earned but there are two requirements that enable God to release his sovereign grace into people’s lives: humble obedience to God’s personal call, command or word, and faith or trust in the faithfulness of God to keep his promises. Those that fulfil these requirements automatically receive the fulfilment of God’s promises; they come under the umbrella or covering of the covenant. Ask yourself, did God bless Abraham because Abraham was obedient and so earned God’s blessing, or was Abraham obedient because God had blessed him or shown him the amazing grace of unmerited favour? Do you think that God would keep his promise to Abraham if he or his sons and household after him pretended to believe but were really unbelieving, rebellious and disobedient? The tradition of established church religion is deceived by the false prophets of church history into teaching that God would. After Abraham’s death, God appeared to Isaac and said in Genesis 26:2-5 “Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: Stay in this land, and I will be with you, and will bless you; for to you, and to your seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father; And I will make your seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto your seed all these countries; and in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws”. Why did God say he would do for Abraham what he had promised? Because Abraham obeyed God’s voice, kept his charge, his commandments, statutes and laws. Do you think that someone can become an heir of Abraham’s blessing or grace of God’s unmerited favour if they disobey God’s voice and ignore his charge, his commandments, statues and? The tradition of established church religion is deceived by culturally Greek religious goat-commentaries into teaching that God would. Why? Because they are woefully ignorant of what the grace of God really means; they are deceived into teaching that they are under grace not law and therefore the cross cancels the command. It says regarding king Josiah in 2 Chronicles 34:31 “And the king stood in his place, and made a covenant before the Lord, to walk after the Lord, and to keep his commandments, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant which are written in this book”. It was the sovereign unmerited favour or grace of God that inspired king Josiah to seek the Lord his God with all of his heart and soul. It was this and only this brought him under the umbrella or covenant-covering of the unmerited favour of Abraham’s blessing. It says in Romans 1:1-6 “Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ”. Paul clearly states that both he and the Romans that he was writing to had received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith. This is the same grace, unmerited favour or blessing that Abraham received, the same promise, the same inheritance. That is why Peter said in Acts 3:25-26 “Ye are the sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his sins”. Remember, the blessing comes before the obedience, the obedience comes from the blessing of God. This has nothing to do with attempting to keep every one of the 613 commandments found in the law of Moses. This has everything to do with being inspired by the Holy Spirit to keep the two greatest commandments: loving God with your whole heart and loving your neighbour as yourself, because God is love. That is why it says in Revelation 22:14 “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life and may enter in through the gates into the city [of God]”. This has been completely disregarded by the blind guides of the established religion of church tradition. The blind guides teach the blatant hypocrisy that if they pretend to believe, they can disobey Jesus’ commandments but still be considered conceptually righteous by God and go to heaven when they die. Why is this? Paul says in Romans 11 that the Romans who were not culturally Jews were wild olive trees that had been grafted into natural olive tree which represents the spiritual Israel, the people of God’s promise. Unfortunately, as the good news of Jesus spread across the Roman Empire after the death of the last of Jesus’s Apostles, those that were culturally Greek did not know the scriptures or understand the ancient Hebrew culture of the Bible. They were no longer grafted into the natural olive tree of the people of God’s promise. They did not understand the purposes or promises of God. They did not understand who Jesus really was, and how important the Hebrews, like Abraham and Paul were in accomplishing God’s purposes. They had no interest the great and precious Pentecostal promises that God made to these men of God. They had no interest in inheriting the kingdom of God because inheritance was not part of their essentially pagan religious worldview. In fact, they imagined that the Hebrews, people like Abraham and David, were primitive, backward, ignorant and uncultured people that knew nothing of the far more advanced wisdom and philosophies of those that were culturally Greek; those that imagined that they were superior to the Hebrews in every way. So, they made up their own conceptual gospel of life after death, theoretical righteousness and their own jigsaw Jesus, taking a few parts from the Bible but filling in any gaps in their woefully inadequate understanding of the real Jesus with a collage of images and ideas taken from their own essentially Greek pagan cultural worldview. They were so blinded by their own sense of cultural and spiritual superiority that they even went so far as to teach that the conceptual complexities of the Triune Godhead were far too intricate for the primitive, backward and simple-minded Hebrews to understand. They teach that in his wisdom, God had to wait many centuries before he could reveal his true Trinitarian nature to Constantine’s clergy who were spiritually superior and intellectually in tune with what God really cares about: an accurate, comprehensive and complete appreciation and understanding of what it really means for God to exist across all space and time in a single community of three different persons conceptually considered as one. This is the doctrine of demons. John said in John 1:11-13 “He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them he gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God”. When John said He came to his own who was he talking about? The Trinity? Of course not. He is the God of Israel, Yehovah God, and his own were the people of Israel.
Paul wrote the Letter to the Galatians because they had been persuaded by religious traditionalists to seek God’s blessing by obedience to the law of Moses instead of from Jesus, the Son of Abraham and heir of Abraham’s blessing. The law of Moses was given by God to save the people of Israel from sinners, not to save people from their sins. The Galatians were blind to the fact that the law of Moses showed no mercy or forgiveness for those who wilfully broke God’s commandments. Paul said in Galatians 3:21-26 “Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. But the scripture has concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the sons of God by faith in Christ Jesus”. The law was a schoolmaster that restrained sin, and which included blessings for obedience, and curses for disobedience. Unfortunately, before the Day of Pentecost and apart from God’s grace, only Jesus ever fulfilled the righteous requirements of the law. Everyone else came under the law’s curse. Paul mentioned that the schoolmaster of the law brought people to Jesus so that they could be justified by faith. Abraham’s Holy Spirit inspired obedience that came from the grace, unmerited favour or blessing of God, justified or redeemed Abraham’s heart and guaranteed that God’s blessing would continue. Justification was received into the hearts of Jesus’ disciples by faith or trust when Jesus breathed on them and said in John 20, receive the Holy Spirit. That enabled them to naturally fulfil the righteous requirements of the law, just like Jesus. Why? Because they had justified, made righteous, or redeemed hearts filled with the eternal life’s breath or Holy Spirit of the paradise of God’s fatherhood. According to Paul in Galatians 3, Jesus died under the curse of the law so that the blessing of Abraham could come to those who repent from the pride that crucified Jesus, and believe. That is why Peter said in Acts 2:38-39 “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call”. What was it that Peter was calling people to repent from? Just as Cain was angry and made a bitter root judgment against God, blamed God for the Fall and murdered Abel his brother, the people of Israel were angry and made a bitter root judgement against Jesus. The religious leaders were angry because Jesus had offended them. Others were angry because they felt that they had been deceived into believing in Jesus, for the Sanhedrin had condemned him for blasphemy. Many that did believe that Jesus was the Messiah and Son of David were angry with him for not living up to their expectations. Why? They were expecting a conquering king to expel the Romans from Judea, not overturn the money-changing tables and expel from the Temple those that had turned it into a marketplace. Peter said in Acts 2:23 that the people of Israel had crucified and slain their own Lord and Messiah, the Anointed One. The blood of Jesus is at the heart of the true gospel or good news of God. Pilate declared that Jesus was not guilty of any wrongdoing and washed his hands publicly from the shedding of Jesus’ innocent blood. The people of Israel forced Pilate to have Jesus crucified. It was them that had the innocent blood of Jesus upon their guilty hands. Those that were humble enough to allow the Holy Spirit to apply that same innocent blood of the Lamb to lintels and door posts of their prideful sinning judgmental hearts were given new justified loving humble hearts and received the gift of the Holy Spirit. Justification has absolutely nothing to do with the conceptual, theoretical and theological justification that only exists in the fairytale realms of culturally Greek goat-commentaries of the religion of the established church. Paul said in Galatians 3:18, 27, 29 “For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise….For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ [the Anointed One] have put on Christ….And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise”. Those that were culturally Greek imagined that all they had to do was to claim this promise by faith alone and it would be theirs. But that is not true. Those who do not love like Jesus loves are not justified despite their established orthodox traditional theological conceptual and cerebral boasts, confessions and claims. Their hearts have not been redeemed; they have not been baptised into Him, they are not clothed with the Anointed One (or Christ), they are not believing and obedient Abraham’s seed or sons, and they are not heirs according to the promise. As we have seen, to Abraham, God promised that “Your son shall possess the gate of his enemies; And in your son shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have obeyed my voice”, and to David, God promised that “I will set up your son after you, which shall proceed out of your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son”. These promises included the true salvation of being saved out of the oppressive hand of all enemies and to be enabled to serve God in holiness and righteousness all the days of their lives. These promises included the ability to move in kingdom power by trampling upon snakes and scorpions and overcoming all the power of the enemy. Through the power of Jesus’ blood shed by those Jesus came to save, this includes the true salvation of freedom from pride, sin, sickness, Satan, disease and ultimately death. This has nothing to do with the religion of the established church; claiming to be justified by faith alone, living a selfish, disobedient and rebellious lifestyle, agreeing intellectually the Nicene Creed, being conceptually righteous and expecting to go to heaven and not hell when people die. That is why Paul said in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 “Don’t you know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind [homosexuals], nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God”. It is vital for people’s hearts to understand that the work of the real Jesus is framed within the culture of the ancient Hebrews, and it is the fulfilment of God’s blood-covenant promises to both Abraham and David. This included being washed by Jesus’ blood, being sanctified or set apart, and justified by being given the gift or fullness of the Holy Spirit. These things have nothing whatsoever to do with the culturally Greek religious jigsaw Jesus invented by church councils and the religion of hand-me-down church tradition which has lots of boasts, claims, declarations, fine sounding scriptural sentences, complicated intellectual theologies and Biblical sounding prayers but no right whatsoever to inherit anything within the kingdom of God. The jigsaw Jesus of the religion of established church tradition never does anything; he is just a concept, a figment of the fantasy faith of the fairy story of tradition. That’s why in so many churches, miracles never happen, and nothing ever changes; they are waiting to die before they are properly saved. This is a fairy story, a child’s fantasy; they believe that when they are dead and have gone to heaven, they will live happily ever after.
How people behave is a family thing; how people behave from their heart is the revelation of their sonship. It says in John 1:11-13 “He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them he gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God”. The Sons of God live in love because God is love; they are born of God and God is their father. They are heirs of Abraham’s blessing and are led by the eternal life’s breath or Holy Spirit of the paradise of God’s fatherhood to behave more and more like Jesus in every circumstance of life. Behaviour in life will become inheritance in resurrection. Inheritance is not a faith thing; people’s actions in life reveal who their true father really is and what they really believe despite what the religion of church tradition teaches them to confess. Inheritance is a family thing; it cannot be claimed by someone who is not in the family way or in the will of the Father. In Acts 19 the seven exorcist sons of Sceva attempted to cast out demons by using the name of Jesus like a religious mantra. The evil spirit said, “Jesus I know, Paul I know of, but who are you?”. They did not bear the family resemblance; they were not in the family way. They were not within Jesus, did not behave like Him and so they received a right royal beating. Paul said in Ephesians 5:1-8 “Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becomes saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this you know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things comes the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience. Be not you therefore partakers with them. For you were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as sons of light”. Paul warned the Ephesians that they could not hope to inherit the promises and kingdom of God if they continued to partner with the father of lies by satisfying the lust of their eyes, the lust of their flesh, and have darkened hard hearts that were filled with the lying breaths or evil spirits of darkness despite what religion had taught them to believe.
It was God who gave the land of promise to Abraham and his heir or seed or son as their inheritance. Abraham’s ultimate son and heir is Jesus. The physical land of Canaan was important because it was somewhere for Abraham’s descendants through Jacob to live. However, it was symbolic of the eternal life’s breath or Holy Spirit of the Pentecostal paradise of God’s fatherhood filling the redeemed or justified promised land of the hearts of God’s Sons. Within ancient Hebrew culture, God’s son is a corporate body of millions of people headed by Jesus who have the same relationship with God as Abraham and his heir or seed Jesus. Within the land of Canaan, the land was given by Moses to the different tribes or sons of Israel as their inheritance. This land belonged to families and was passed down from the fathers to the current generation of sons. This land was an inherited possession and stayed within the family. Land could be sold outside of the family as a purchased possession but ultimately the title deed to the land belonged to the family and the family had the right to buy back the land if a kinsman redeemer could be found who could afford the price. So, it says in Leviticus 25:23-27 “The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine, for you are strangers and sojourners with me. And in all the land of your possession you shall grant a redemption for the land. If thy brother becomes poor, and has sold away some of his possession, and if any of his kin come to redeem it, then shall he redeem that which his brother sold. And if the man have none to redeem it, and himself be able to redeem it; Then let him count the years of the sale thereof, and restore the overplus unto the man to whom he sold it; that he may return unto his possession”. Jesus the man is the Son of Abraham and heir of his blessing, and the Son of David and the heir of his crown and kingdom. Jesus the man now possesses as his inheritance the land of the promise of the Father, the eternal life’s breath or Holy Spirit of the Pentecostal paradise of God’s fatherhood filling his heart. This is Abraham’s blessing, and this he poured out upon Jesus’ brothers or bride as a blood-purchased possession on the Day of Pentecost. Isaiah 54:5 says, “For your Maker is your husband; the Lord of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called”. Jesus (Yeshua meaning I AM your salvation) as the great kinsman redeemer came to re-establish Yehovah (I AM) God’s eternal purpose of sonship. Jesus is fully God and fully man. God became a man; God became his own Son to establish sonship for the Sons of God. That is why it says regarding Jesus in Hebrews 1;4 “So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs”. The name that Jesus inherited is the name the Son of God. He imparts and redeems the land of promise back to his brothers or bride by sharing his identity as the Son of God with them. The Sons of God are Jesus’ brothers or bride. They are part of Jesus’ corporate identity and receive the same blessing or anointing that Jesus received from God when he was baptised with the Holy Spirit in the River Jordan. Receiving this same blessing or anointing is essential because it gives God’s unmerited favour to the sons of God to live within the purchased possession of Pentecost within this life. This gives them the gift of the true salvation of overcoming victory in every aspect of life. This overcoming victory is the deposit or guarantee of the eternal inheritance of sonship that the man Jesus has already inherited when he rose from the dead. That is why it says in Hebrews 9:14-15 “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new covenant, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance”. Abraham received the inheritance of sonship in this life as God swore by Himself that he would inherit because of the grace or unmerited blessing of his inspired obedience. He couldn’t lose his inheritance after this, but others can. It depends how they behave. God also has an inheritance. His inheritance is within his sons or called out or chosen ones. At the first resurrection, God will receive his inheritance within his Sons. That is why Paul prayed for the Ephesians and said in Ephesians 1:18-19 “The eyes of your hearts being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe”. God possessed that land within them through the deposit of his eternal life’s breath or Holy Spirit that dwelled within their redeemed hearts during their lifetime. The fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control that they bear as good trees of righteousness in this life is the evidence or sign or seal or mark or reflection or image of the eternal life’s breath or Holy Spirit of God’s fatherhood that dwells within their justified or hearts redeemed from the pride that nailed Jesus to the cross. This fruit proves that they have the deposit which guarantees what is to come. That is why Paul said in Ephesians 1:11-14 “In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom you also trusted, after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the deposit of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of his glory”. In the ancient world, documents were written on parchment that was rolled up and then sealed with a wax seal. The wax seal was the outward sign that what was inside the document or letter was genuine and authentic. One day, everyone will rise from the dead. Behaviour in life will become inheritance in resurrection. Those who receive the purchased possession of the deposit or guarantee of the eternal life’s breath or Holy Spirit of God dwelling in their hearts redeemed from the pride that murdered the author of life will behave more and more like Jesus in every aspect of life. This is the outward sign or seal or guarantee of authenticity that the purchased possession of the Holy Spirit is truly indwelling their redeemed hearts. That is why Jesus said in Matthew 5:44-45 “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That you may be the sons of your Father which is in heaven”. Those that live like this will rise from the dead and inherit this same blessing or seal of the Holy Spirit as an inherited possession filling their hearts forever. Those that don’t won’t. Those that claim, confess or believe they have but haven’t won’t. Why not? Because without the outward seal or sign of authenticity, what is inside their hearts is not genuine and authentic no matter what people may be taught by the religion of established church tradition to claim, confess or believe. God is love. God will not recognise these people as his Sons because they didn’t love their enemies. They didn’t have the eternal life’s breath or Holy Spirit of the paradise of God’s fatherhood in their hearts inspiring them to love like Jesus loves.
So, what about you? Someone once sang; I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky. If someone believes that they can fly, does it mean they can fly and touch the sky? Yes? If someone believes they are not subject to the law of gravity, does it mean they can walk on water? No? Well, why is it that within the fairytale realms of the church establishment people are taught that if they believe they have been given the gift of righteousness then God considers them righteous no matter what they do? Such teaching is a fertile seedbed of established church hypocrisy, and religious leadership attracts hypocrites like garbage attracts flies. The devil is God’s garbage collector, after all, someone has to take out the trash. When the innocent and precious blood of Jesus on the hands guilty of Jesus crucifixion is applied by the Holy Spirit to their prideful sinning judgmental hearts, their hearts become humbled, broken, contrite, cut or pierced and ready to receive the gift of God’s Holy Spirit that was poured out on the Day of Pentecost. This was the promise of the Father, and the promise is the Father, by his Holy Spirit. It is the gift of the eternal life’s breath or Holy Spirit of the Pentecostal paradise of God’s fatherhood. This is the blood-purchased possession, the promised gift of the Holy Spirit, the gift or Spirit of Righteousness filling the hearts of those who repented from the shedding of Jesus’ innocent blood and inspiring them to do what was right from the heart (see Acts 2 and 3). There was nothing conceptual, theoretical, theological or intellectual about this. Peter defines what righteousness is and mentions inheriting a blessing when he said in 1 Peter 3:8-12 “Finally, be all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be merciful, be kind: Not rendering evil for evil, or accusation for accusation: but instead blessing; knowing that you are there called, that you should inherit a blessing. For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile: Let him turn away from evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it. For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil”. This is practical and real and not conceptual fantasy found in the religion of church tradition. Remember, Peter said regarding Pentecost in Acts 3:25-26 “You are the sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities”. The promised gift of the Holy Spirit is Abraham’s blood-covenant blessing or gift or grace of unmerited favour poured out on the Day of Pentecost. It justified or turned Jesus’ disciples from their natural born original prideful sinning wicked ways. That is why Paul said to his friends in Ephesus in Acts 20:32 “And now, brothers, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace [unmerited blessing], which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all of them which are sanctified [set apart]”. So, how about it? Are the eyes of the Lord upon you, are his ears attentive to your prayers? Are you going to inherit a blessing? Or his is face against you? Are you going to inherit a curse? There are many within the established church that make great boasts, claims and confessions, they have marvellous theologies, fine sounding creeds and scriptural sounding reasoned out logical arguments as to why their sinful behaviour doesn’t matter but Jesus does not recognise them as his own. Will Jesus recognise you? No one can truly possess the promised gift of God’s Holy Spirit in life they are not owned or dedicated to or possessed by the will and purposes of God for their lives today. One day, everyone will rise from the dead. Behaviour in life will become inheritance in resurrection. The promise of God is that that those that do truly possess the blood-purchased gift of the Holy Spirit in life will inherit that same gift in resurrection and that gift of the Holy Spirit dwelling within their redeemed hearts will be theirs forever. Will this gift be yours? What are you going to inherit?
Prayer: Dear Father, you say in your word that people can receive your great and precious promises, participate in your divine nature, and be free from the dreadful corruption of this world caused by the sinful satisfaction of evil lusts and wicked desires. In the name of Yeshua, the Messiah and through his precious blood that was shed on the cross by the people he came to save, please change me, redeem me, and fill my heart with yourself through your Holy Spirit so that I will be able to participate in your divine nature and be free from such wickedness in all its forms. You say in your word that behaviour in life will become inheritance in resurrection. May the fruit of your love be my Holy Spirit inspired behaviour in life so that your Holy Spirit will be my inheritance in resurrection. When that happens, you will be mine, and I will be yours, forever.
